I had went several internships, I always make a goal before I started finding a internship. I have chosen a place or job types that your interested. Also I always, go to job fair that would. I have shared companies that were hiring in Discord.

I suggested go to find internships LinkedIn or Apply CUNY internships programs. They would be helpful recourses and they would give you ideas how you find internships.

the finish line is approaching faster than I realized.. and honestly im quite worried. I’m a laidback, overthinking person, so making all of these life altering decisions is a big step for me lol. However last weeks blog post really helped me layout a career path so im grateful for that. I will need more time to pick out the ideal internship but at least I know where to go.

For a person like me, it’s always been hard to put myself, talents, and thoughts into a specific category. I have a lot of interests all closely related that I would love to dig deeper into. However, it feels like I need more guidance to see what field I really would flourish in. I wanna take some more time to really understand what makes me happy. I get tired of what I actually love or think I love at times. So maybe I need a mentor before an internship or vice versa.

In class we had to look up Internships that fits our career goals. I focused on NBC internship opportunities. I looked for a direct contact information. This is the link for the NBC contact information.

What I’ve learned looking for Internships is that applying on websites only one step of the process. It’s also finding a location like address to the internship and direct contact information. Contacting the source directly increases my chances of getting an internship.

So while I was searching for an internship, I found this really cool blogger by the name of Robyn Jordan, who’s basically in the position that I’m in; she owns her own website called blackgirlcreate.com, and she has her own podcast. However, they also made me realize how far I am from that dream, so that sucks

But one step at a time, the first thing I did was find a place to do an internship that focuses on blogging/writing. I found this one place called Soho paws that focuses on high-quality pet products and the head of strategy and marketing. Juan Andres is looking for bloggers and writers to talk about their products and help customers understand the products. I like it because it gives me experience with writing and takes me out of my comfort zone, and makes me improve as a writer. It also helps that I like dogs 🙂

However, not all internships are good for me. There was a fake internship I found for a place called get set go, and they were looking for an internship, and when I looked at it the first time, something was very off. It didn’t look very professional, and the design layout of it was fundamental, almost like a rookie of web design 1 did it (no disrespect to that rookie) come to find out the whole thing isn’t real, so that was a big waste of time.

That being said, finding an internship for what I’m interested in is harder than it looks, but I have to be more determined to get what I want. 

For my future project, I have decided to make an animation for my niece. A little background about Raisa, 7 years old, currently she is being homeschooled right now. She loves to draw and doodle and she loves to share them with me, she is a very talented little girl.

The idea to create her drawing into animation came up to me recently while I was learning to create musicals shapes, squish, and stretch projects.
The steps that I’m taking to create this project is to get high-quality assets by teaching her how to take photos on her iPad and teach her about light composition. After collecting my Assets my next step is to edit them on photoshop and create moveable parts.

Hopefully, my idea of my Big Goal follows through and I can successfully finish my project by the end of CT 401 class. I’m very glad that I have thought about the project beforehand. Now I don’t have to waste time thinking about what my final project would be. Plus I have got her very excited about having her own drawn animated video.

Hey all, I’m Umme. This is my 5th year in York and if all goes well one more semester then I’ll have the biggest achievement of my life. When I was in high school I had no idea how and what college was supposed to be like. I had no one for a guide, I just figured it on my own. Luckily we have the CT Portfolio class to show us the blueprint of how can we go on utilizing the education we got from our college experience. For some, they are already on the path of their next Achievement, some have no clue, some want to go to a different path, and for some like me are thinking what their next achievement will be.

In today’s class, we discussed the best and worst class in our college experience. For my partner, her best-experienced class was Digital Storytelling( CT 101) where she enjoyed the encouragement and visual presentation of the class’s understanding; Cinematography( CT 355) she enjoyed working with the cool props, equipment knowledge for how to work at an actual studio. Her worst classes were English 126, where she experienced no communication and bad hygiene from the professor; Music 110, where the professor was very stricken and her expectation of expanding her music knowledge was not successful.

York College has given the knowledge that I have never thought I would get and the lesson was how to be an adult and from every class, I have learned to be a better adulting. For this class, I hope to learn more about my future goals and how to achieve them.

I am currently working on final project for this semester. In all honesty, I didn’t want to do animation for my project, but because of the pandemic, I had no option. Even though I couldn’t do a short film as I originally wanted, I thought to myself I can still animate a story to show off my storytelling. The goal of mine is to make stories for an audience who can relate and connect to it. During the summer it took a while to figure out what I wanted to come up with. It took some time to write out my thoughts for a script and a proposal along with it.

During the class on Friday, I learned a lot of other people’s perspectives and ideas on what they wanted to do with their final project. I got to learn more about what others’ are interested in and what they hope to accomplish. One person in the group added a video with Adobe After Effects tips, it was helpful to make things easier while animating. Since animating isn’t my strongest point it is a good skill to have in case a company hires someone with a more variety of skill sets.

As I learned how to decide to choose a final projects for CT -401 part of CT-399. I had interests projects that I created during my CT- 401 which I have been creating Arduino  as a small projects tasks beside that I liked to take video’s and post to my websites. Beside my interested in Arduino,  I have interested take Photography from outside or graphics design of photos.
