The first class was interesting, it was very interactive. I enjoyed the activity we did where we had to pick two classes that we liked and two classes that we hated. It brought back memories of those classes I took. Of course, there will always be good memories as well as bad ones. However, they are what gives us experience and shapes us as human beings.

It does make me think though that I am almost near the end of my college life. I never thought I would have made it this far. The friends I’ve made in college gave me the strength to keep pushing forward even when times were tough. I am scared of what the future has in store for me, but I know that I will be okay as long as I keep working hard and doing my best. Eventually, I will reach my destination at one point in my life.

Before I  have  came to York College,  I  have started  from QCC which called Queensborough Community College.  When I had started   there as a  freshmen , I  had no support  such  I  have  never had  discovered  anything  in the  beginning. I always wanted wanted do computer classes. So I  had to  take  remedial class before  I start with high classes which wan’t  fun. However, I had  pull out to  ask  people or  get attentions  from  other students  to  find the  major I  have wanted  which  internet   and information  technology. At the end  semester  during  the freshmen year I  had  to reached out to STEM   program  to declare  the major.  As  my memory  from QCC  was  pretty  fun  in my internet tech  major. I had big enjoyment  from the  web design classes . I have learned  doing  designing in android    phones  and programming a  websites.  One of the  classes  I did not like was  one of science  class QCC,However I  had   learned  technology and energy saving .

After , I  finished the QCC, I  have 2 course at City  tech to try out. I  did not like there   because morning travels was  giving too much  problem getting into Brooklyn. Then I  had reached  out  to my  advisers at QCC to  see  what college they recommended to go. they have  referred to go York College, to  get major in communication  technology  in Web development  I  have  enjoy York college classes such as CT 101 ,ENG 384,CT 137. I  had struggled in Speech 350 because I  never   done  online class, I have  used   in the person all the time. However I  had some assist getting assignment  done online or getting help understanding  the content. Today, I am almost done  my  major  in this  pandemic situation,I  have   many different professor are doing online  programs  such as zoom,blackboard  and today  another new  technology  to was Discord  and CUNY  commons. I  had been wondering there always  new   tools out there can been used. This  class  has  discovered many different   things, I  did not realized  that Discord   is  just like  blackboard collaborate ultra but Discord    can do  your own  instead being controlled but you can send a link. CT  -399  is a first experience  good start  in  online  program instead meeting the  person.

The first day of class was pretty awesome. That feeling of knowing that you’re almost near the end of your college life is scary but also very exciting

That being said, flashing back to my worst classes and my best classes and talking to my classmate Jessica was very interesting given the fact that I never really thought so much on it but now that I think about it there’s so much to say on each class.

If I had to give two of my best class I would always say digital storytelling and web design one.

I say these two because I felt like when it comes on to technology I learned so much about how important good web design is and function that not only that but professor Smith makes learning fun and interesting.

As for digital storytelling, it made me fully embrace and talk about the things I like which is video games, movies and comic books through blogging and doing YouTube videos which is something I would have never had done before in my life also professor seslow it’s such a kind and gentle soul to the point I feel like he’s going to kidnap me lol

As for my least favorite class was writing for electronic media and portrait documentary. Although I felt like at least with portrait documentary I was learning something but they didn’t like how the professor criticized my work with electronic media I can’t even tell you what we learned even though I have an A- in the class because the professor was very unorganized and was unpredictable in a bad way.

Overall I hope this semester will be a great one and I’m looking forward to

Through out my freshman to senior year at York College I’ve had some pretty cool fun classes and some not so fun classes. To mention memory lane two of my favorite classes so far that I encounter over the years would have to be CT 210 that was a very productive class for me to figure out a better vision for my career in the television network. this class showed me how I needed to learn these techniques in order to graduate. I will always use these tools to further more my career once I graduate. One class I will never feel comfortable with during my freshman year I took and economics class 101 that I struggled with because it was fast paced and I wasn’t familiar with graphs but I came to realize I need to know these things if I ever wanted to learn about the stock market or trade money to other countries. Today was interesting learning a new app for me called Discord and getting more familiar with CUNY academics was fundamental and I look forward to learning more in this portfolio class.

We are finally back to online classes and I am so happy because this will be my senior year! During our first class we just spoke about discord, the syllabus and we were able to break out into pairs and we spoke about our best a worst classes. Jahi and I both had the same positive classes but for our worst classes we seemed to have the same issues but with different professors. Unfortunately we both experienced professors who weren’t the best at giving criticism and not organized at all.

I cant wait to start learning new material this year in all my classes this semester!

we meet again on discord!

this course seems very laid back and straightforward, just because it is about us as individuals and our life through these four years of college. being able to discuss with a peer our best and worst classes was interesting, especially if a peer has taken the same classes as you and almost having the same opinions.

the ending is really near. i have had a lot of different experiences here at york college, both good and bad but i wouldn’t change it for anything. i am looking forward to what else will come out from this course since i enjoyed our very first one. here’s to a great semester (hopefully!)

I felt like it was a good start overall. The syllabus and objectives were outlined clearly and I had a nice time conversing with my classmates !. I look forward to meeting again

Well, Finally! Graduating has been a big goal for me, and I can see the finish line. I believe that in my 3 years of being at York College, It was not fun. My big goals for what I want to accomplish in and out of school never came to fruition and I can’t even be mad at it. Many of the small tasks that I have worked on gave me opportunities in the complete opposite direction of the way I would’ve wanted to go but who am I to question the universe? When I didn’t get the big Internship I wanted last summer, I didn’t want anything to do with further education. What was the point if I’m working hard at school and things can’t pay off for me? Like, America explain. I reframed the researching process and came to love job positions that I didn’t even know existed. For example, many of the big brands we see, more than likely have smaller (or bigger) brands that are easier to work for because you are behind the scenes and not working for such a big name. Consider being a Ghostwriter for Drake. While some people may want to be Drake, I prefer to be the Ghostwriter. Slept on, but I’m still working hard and creating amazing content.

Doing research really sets the bar when it comes to job searching. I think of myself most of the times like Barry Bee, Never wanting to be in the same job for the rest of my life, but I do want the one that I have now to be worth it.

We’ve spent a lot of time this semester discussing larger goals, BIG GOALS! And how you might pursue them with incremental efforts. This included do a lot of research to identify pathways toward your goal posts. You found projects, people, academic programs, jobs, internships, and more which had affinities for your larger goals.

You also were asked to frame your digital presence, internship, and final project plans around this larger goal. It’s time to ask yourself where you are in this plan and report out some next steps. For the last day you will need to show a digital presence in whatever form it currently exists. In your blog post you should define why this is the right digital presence for you based on researched norms for your community of interest.

Also, you need to examine your final project and internship readiness. What needs to be done? Do you have approval for either? Both? For each of these be sure to define under which category your are:

4. I am searching for internship placement options.
5. I have applied to internship placements and am waiting for a reply.
6. I have an internship placement but needs to be reviewed.
7. I have an internship placement, it’s been reviewed, and I’m cleared to register for CT 490 or CT 491.
8. I’ve completed CT 490 and my internship.

Have a look at the two sample resumes which following a production resume format. Besides contact information, the resume includes two sections – Jobs & Projects. For each item in each section you might divide the types of used to describe them as follows:

Job Bullets

• Interactions with people on the job;
• Job specific skills/projects;
• General support/maintenance activities.

Project Bullets

• give a meaningful name
• description/purpose/story of the work
• production role (producer, videographer, editor)
• technology used
• length/scope of work
• how used by clients/users and analytics if relevant.

In working on your first resume draft, consider adding all jobs and all projects. Better to start with more than less. We can review the language and appropriateness of each item listed in our next meeting.
